Same for my gmail and google maps. Pages, even images, are snapping up fast as ever. my Firefox often crashes with no apparent reason, so Chrome is the most stable browser I know. my gut feeling is it's a percived non response from the search sync widget (dunno the name) that causes a collision...
- None have worked.
- More like if you loaded the same page in multiple tabs at the same time.
- Removing it greatly improved my IE8 experience...

I've uninstalled, reinstalled, removed extensions and plugins, cleared the caches, etc, but the problems get worse and worse. Running Malwarebytes has measurably improved the address bar lag. (It's still not up to the speed it should be but it's much better.) I did a few days ago and DEAR GOD did it improve chromes performance.

Someone else complaining about a delay opening about:blank had some inexplicable security and networking symptoms showing in their trace... that's a delay opening the first tab I think but no information about what happens when opening a new tab. This started a week or two ago, perhaps with an update.
Not sure why HW acceleration seems to be the culprit, nor what exactly changed that caused this issue. It's been increasingly slower and laggier with each update. Only from this laptop is slow. I thought that once I had visited a domain, then that domain for a given IE session could now be opened in a new tab from a repeated search...
