good point im not sure if something under the name "HDMI" should be showing in Device manager all i can see is under Display Adapters Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 which is The Intel Graphics Control Panel does recognise the correct Monitor: Digital TV LGB-23DC, and everything works as it should. For the people experiencing the same problem, I think the issue (for me anyway) is the lack of a driver for the HDMI port which means Windows can't properly interface with directory yes i've updated my drivers to the latest version 100%. As soon as I got to the website of Humax, the TV-screen lit up. The problem is not the HDMI cable or the TV since the TV works with other computers and smartphones using the same cable. I have a new Lenovo laptop with Win 8 on it.
