I also downgraded mouse drivers. I've loaded up the latest drivers from Synaptics (v 184.108.40.206) and still had the same behavior. But if your computer can't find an updated driver, you may have to look for the updated driver by yourself. That question concerns a touchpad being completely disabled after sleep.
