A hard disk in the Windows environment will have at least two and maybe more partitions or volumes. I have unconfirmed information that this problem may be solved in Windows-8. I did a chkdsk and am now re-running the Windows Backup. I run into problem when I try to restore to image from the usb external drive to a old hard drive come from another laptop.
