Thinkpad Yoga X1 Running Hot
The battery is large for the system’s size, and it results in long battery life. The vent is positioned so that it isn't blocked while the X1 Yoga is being used as a tablet. I was having WiFi issues staying connected and so I kept returning/exchanging the unit. I'd go for the Skylake Spectre x360 if it weren't for its weight. http://itsolutionsmarter.com/thinkpad-yoga/thinkpad-yoga-pen.html
Reply Sarfraz December 11, 2015 at 12:09 pmThere are some points which are clear such as Vong getting great battery life because he using FHD unit while Ash didnt get that This unit has the same problem, which, based on your comments in that thread is what you would expect. So I turned the GPU off for Lightroom--still works fast enough for me. Several times now, I've been in the middle of installing apps and had no idea that Windows was also installing updates at the exact same time. As of right now, I am considering keeping the Yoga, going back to the QHD Ash Silver Spectre or going with one of the 2 Samsungs. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-X-Series-Laptops/Thinkpad-Yoga-X1-running-hot/td-p/3348175

We're anxiously awaiting the OLED version, which may make us change our minds about the price. In 3 words; It feels cheap! What I love about the Yoga keyboard is that the arrow keys are larger and spaced out. https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comments/4d02x8/x1_yoga_runs_hot_and_how_to_fix_it/ I take back what I said in my above posts; plastic is no good!If the Spectre were just a little bit thinner and lighter (under 3 pounds like the Yoga and

Ace01 November 15, 2015 at 3:44 amVong, if it's not too late, you might want to consider the Samsung ATIV Book 9 Spin (terrible name but an awesome unit). I'll be coming from a Toshiba Satellite circa 2011. Some days I am left with 50% and some days about 20%. The Function toggle key is to the left of the Control key, while every other laptop has the reverse layout.

At $1,394 starting, and $1,871 as we tested it, the ThinkPad X1 Yoga is one of the most expensive convertibles on the market. Starting at $1,394, this 14-inch, bend-back 2-in-1 features a battery that will last a full workday, a screen with vivid colors, and a stylus for drawing and navigating Windows. It's fast enough for everyday usage and up to 4K video playback. I do not doubt your glowing review of it at all.
Notable cons include a lack of user upgrade options, no snap-in docking solutions, and of course, the price.
