Desktop Won't Turn On
It suddenly shut off and won't turn back on. You said to remove the battery and the mains supply. Fortunately, you can get a pretty good idea by noting how and when the PC fails.
If your surge protector or power strip is under your desk, check to make sure a wandering toe didn't turn it off.If the cord appears to be fine and the socket Any ideas before I have to go and spend some big bucks to get it fixed. your a genious and thanks again Report softg- Jan 1, 2010 at 01:13 AM thank you tic tac. Report sssmokeee- Mar 23, 2010 at 04:20 PM Worked like a charm ... I removed the battery and plugged in the A/C power and it automatically began to start up, after like 3-5 seconds it shut back down and will not start back. I assume removing the MB lithium battery will not help but I am not sure. have a peek here That will tell you if there's a problem with the surge protector or the electric outlet.

You are a god, tictactoe. thank you in advance merry christmas.. We were rather worried as (a) this laptop has been pretty hopeless and (b) all our photos are on it. u are my hero..
Most of this time this happens if there has been a lot of malicious bot activity from your current internet provider's network or you are using a VPN. I was worried that I had lost everything right smack in the middle of finals. I've been struggling with this battery/power supply problem for almost 7 months, jiggling everything every which way, totally dismantling the laptop and putting it back together (gateway TA1) thanks you SOOO It got pushed down below the plastic in the little hole where it resides.
Can someone please tell me what is wrong and how to fix it? it turns on for 2 or 3 seconds and then turns off again. Report pfraser- Mar 24, 2010 at 11:40 AM Works like a charm!!! I thought I was going to have to buy my boyfriend a new computer!
Thanks to you I am up and running again and I am not going to waste another second I am going to backup and transfer RIGHT NOW!!! I really appreciate your post. The battery will receive a charge, and the computer loads and runs fine for the (extremely short) duration of battery life. Report techilliterate- Apr 23, 2010 at 11:28 AM thank you so much.
